Responsible Marketing Policy
Last Updated: 23 August 2026
1. Purpose
The Compliance Classroom is committed to ensuring that its marketing and promotional activity is accurate, transparent, professional and responsible.
We want learners, education settings, organisations and other customers to have clear and reliable information about our training before making a purchasing decision.
This policy sets out the principles we follow when creating, reviewing and publishing marketing and promotional information.
2. Scope
This policy applies to marketing and promotional content produced or approved by The Compliance Classroom, including:
- website and course content;
- course and licence descriptions;
- social media;
- email marketing;
- digital advertising;
- brochures and other promotional materials;
- testimonials and reviews;
- promotional offers and discounts; and
- statements about accreditation, recognition, certification or continuing professional development (CPD).
3. Accuracy And Transparency
The Compliance Classroom will take reasonable steps to ensure that marketing information is accurate, clear and not misleading.
Information provided about our training will accurately reflect relevant matters such as:
- the nature and purpose of the training;
- the intended audience;
- course content and learning outcomes;
- the method of delivery;
- expected learning time, where stated;
- assessments or knowledge checks;
- certificates provided;
- licence duration and learner numbers;
- pricing and any relevant additional costs; and
- accreditation, recognition or CPD status, where applicable.
We will not knowingly make claims that could give learners or customers a misleading impression about the nature, status or value of our training.
In particular, courses will not be described as regulated qualifications, independently accredited or externally approved unless they genuinely hold that status.
4. Course And Licence Information
We will provide prospective customers with sufficient information to understand what they are purchasing.
Where appropriate, this may include the course or product title, intended learners, learning outcomes, delivery method, expected duration, assessment arrangements, certification and price.
Where training is sold as part of the Core Compliance Training Suite, we will clearly explain what is included within the suite.
Where specialist, role-specific or additional courses are available separately, we will not imply that they are included within a Core Compliance Training Suite licence unless this is specifically stated.
Where a licence provides access for a specified number of learners or for a defined period, this will be communicated clearly.
If material information changes, we will take reasonable steps to update relevant customer-facing information promptly.
5. Accreditation, CPD And Certification Claims
The Compliance Classroom is an Approved CPD Provider.
References to our Approved CPD Provider status will accurately reflect the approval held by The Compliance Classroom and will not imply that every individual course has been independently CPD accredited or approved unless that is expressly the case.
Where an individual course receives external accreditation, recognition or CPD approval, any reference to this will accurately reflect the status awarded to that particular course.
Accreditation or approval logos, statements and branding will only be used where we are entitled to use them and in accordance with any applicable conditions.
We will not imply that all courses are accredited or externally recognised where this only applies to particular courses.
Where CPD hours, points or learning time are stated, these will reflect the applicable or approved information.
Completion certificates will be described accurately and will not be presented as regulated qualifications or professional licences unless they genuinely hold that status.
6. Learning Outcomes And Course Claims
Marketing descriptions and advertised learning outcomes will reflect the training actually provided.
We will avoid exaggerated or unsupported claims about the benefits of completing a course.
We will not guarantee employment, career progression, financial benefit, professional status, legal compliance or another particular outcome unless such a claim can be objectively supported.
Completion of training will not be presented as removing an organisation’s or individual’s wider legal, professional or organisational responsibilities.
7. Pricing And Promotional Offers
Prices, licence sizes, discounts and promotional offers will be communicated clearly.
We will not knowingly use misleading pricing or promotional practices.
Where an offer is subject to eligibility criteria, restrictions or a defined period, relevant conditions will be made clear.
Any unavoidable additional charge required to access or complete purchased training will be communicated before purchase where applicable.
The price and licence information presented to a customer before completing an order will accurately reflect the product being purchased.
8. Testimonials And Reviews
Testimonials and learner feedback will be presented responsibly and will not knowingly be altered or presented in a way that materially misrepresents the individual’s experience.
Where an individual can be identified from a testimonial or feedback used for promotional purposes, appropriate permission will be obtained where required.
Feedback collected through course evaluations may be used to help improve our training and services.
Where feedback is collected for course evaluation or reflective practice purposes, this will not automatically mean that the individual has agreed for their comments or personal information to be used in identifiable marketing materials.
We will not knowingly publish fabricated testimonials or reviews.
9. Social Media And Digital Marketing
Marketing published through social media, email and other digital channels will be subject to the same standards of accuracy and transparency as information published on our website.
We will not knowingly make unsupported claims about our courses, accreditation, CPD status, certificates or learner outcomes.
Where third-party images, content or intellectual property are used, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that we have an appropriate right, permission or licence to use them.
Where social media content links to our website, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that significant information about the training, licence or offer is not presented in a misleading or materially incomplete way.
10. Data Protection And Direct Marketing
Personal information used for marketing purposes will be handled in accordance with The Compliance Classroom’s Privacy Notice and applicable UK data protection and electronic marketing requirements.
Where we rely on consent for electronic marketing, consent will be obtained through a clear and separate choice.
Marketing consent will not be treated as a condition of:
- purchasing training;
- creating an account;
- accessing training;
- submitting a contact-form enquiry; or
- accepting our contractual terms.
Where an optional marketing choice is presented through our website or checkout, it will not be pre-selected.
Submitting a contact-form enquiry, purchasing a licence or creating a learner or administrator account does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive optional marketing communications.
Where an individual has chosen to receive marketing communications, we will maintain an appropriate record of that preference where necessary.
Recipients will be provided with an appropriate way to withdraw consent or opt out of marketing communications. Where consent is withdrawn or an individual unsubscribes, we may retain limited information necessary to record and respect that preference.
Choosing not to receive marketing communications will not affect a customer’s or learner’s ability to receive essential service communications relating to an order, licence, account, training or support request.
Personal information will not be provided to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes unless there is an appropriate lawful basis and any required consent has been obtained.
11. Contact Forms And Enquiries
Information provided through our website contact form or other direct enquiries will be used to receive, manage and respond to the enquiry.
Our contact form requires users to acknowledge our Privacy Notice before submitting an enquiry. This acknowledgement relates to the handling of the information submitted and is not consent to receive marketing communications.
We will not automatically add individuals who contact us through the website to a marketing mailing list.
Where an enquiry develops into a customer or contractual relationship, relevant information may be used as reasonably necessary to respond to the enquiry, provide requested information, take steps before entering into a contract or administer the resulting relationship.
12. Service Communications
Communications reasonably necessary to administer an order, account, licence or training service are not treated as optional marketing solely because they are sent by email.
These may include communications relating to:
- orders and payments;
- account creation and security;
- learner access;
- training administration;
- technical or customer support;
- licence expiry or renewal administration; and
- significant changes affecting an active service.
We will take care to distinguish essential service communications from optional promotional marketing.
13. Review And Approval Of Marketing
The Compliance Classroom is a small organisation and operates a proportionate approach to reviewing marketing material.
Particular care will be taken when publishing or materially changing claims relating to:
- accreditation, CPD status or external recognition;
- qualifications or certification;
- course duration or CPD hours;
- learning outcomes;
- licence inclusions and learner numbers;
- prices and promotional offers; and
- professional or learner outcomes.
Significant new marketing claims should be reviewed by a Director where reasonably practicable.
Routine administrative changes may be made by an authorised person provided that they remain consistent with this policy.
14. Correcting Errors
If we identify inaccurate or potentially misleading information in published marketing material, reasonable steps will be taken to correct it promptly.
Where an error could materially affect a customer’s understanding of a course, licence, accreditation or CPD status, price or other significant aspect of their purchase, the matter will be reviewed and appropriate corrective action considered.
Where appropriate, this may include contacting affected customers.
15. Responsible Advertising
The Compliance Classroom aims to ensure that its marketing complies with applicable UK advertising, consumer protection, privacy and direct-marketing requirements.
Our marketing communications will be prepared on the principle that advertising should be legal, decent, honest and truthful.
We will keep our marketing practices under review as our courses, services and business model develop.
16. Responsibility And Review
Overall responsibility for responsible marketing rests with the Directors of The Compliance Classroom.
Anyone authorised to create or publish marketing material on our behalf is expected to follow this policy.
Where external providers assist with marketing, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that material produced on our behalf is consistent with these principles.
This policy will be reviewed at least annually and sooner where there are significant changes to our services, marketing activities, accreditation arrangements, business model or applicable requirements.
